In all seriousness though, this is my dream car. I've wanted a Nightfire Tickford Saloon since I first discovered they existed. I'm under no pretences that this is anything but a long term project and I've still got the 820E that needs attention. But the bottom line is that I finally have a Tickford and it's in good hands. I couldn't be more chuffed right now

I've recently acquired a large box of M1 parts from a seller on eBay, two brand new headlights, in their original boxes, two sidelight/indicators, (used) and two rear light clusters, (used) and a pair of new bonnet hinges.

Let me know if you want them for this car.

I've yet to go and collect it, I know it's probably going to be a mammoth task getting it on the road again but like I say, sometimes you've just got to bite the bullet and go with your heart. I could've waited another 5 or 10 years for another one to turn up. I couldn't let this one potentially be broken. It was my civic duty as a true 800 enthusiast to rescue it

I'm guessing at some point it had a Mk2 grille on it sadly, but it comes with a load of new old stock panels and a bonnet according to the seller. Theres a whole stack of spares with it actually.

The plan at the minute is to get it back home, store it for a little bit while my 820E is being tidied up, then next year work will begin on Terry the Tickford so watch this space, I'll post some preliminary pics before it gets stored then we can slowly track it's progress...

I was tempted by this but having the white Mk1 special on the drive and my Tickford on the road and currently my weekly driver I had no room.
I am really glad to see it saved. What you need is to sort out the correct seats for it. They had full leather as opposed to the half leather of the fastbacks. The paint code should be CAQ if it's the same as mine. Oh, and get the grille painted black like it should be, it looks like it has a Sterling one with the chrome strip.

Well done Ryan! Glad it's gone to someone who will save it, i remember when these were still in development and a friend worked for Janspeed (or was it Turbo Technics, can't remember now) and he somehow got hold of one for "out of hours aka real time evaluation". Put another way it was a good excuse for him to hoon it around to prove it couldn't be broken easily. Lucky beggar!!!

Good luck with the rstoration, will it be an "all or nothing " reveal or will you do the basics to get it roadwarthy then complete it as a rolling resto?

Nice one Ryan, Glad to see someone got the car who will work with it and a project such as this will be a huge satisfaction in a few years once completed.

Does this mean that the 827i will be getting the heave ho? or keep as daily driver while this is worked on.

thanks for the words of encouragement guys lol It's all happened a bit quick, I've not quite decided how i'm going to go about tackling it. More than likely a case of getting it running and through an MOT before starting on the engine rebuild and bodywork I guess.

The 827 is up for grabs sadly, it's a nice car but I really need to dedicate my time and money into the 820E and Tickford now. I've got two rare and gorgeous Mk1's now that need all the attention lol
