Good stuff. :)

Work out a way of putting a tow bar on it and once it's legal you can chuck my trailer on the back? That would be a sight? :D

Another vehicular Anglo-Japanese collaboration! Kind of fitting in a way Yasu chose to do it to an 800. :wink: :D

As long as it's nowhere near Dagenham - that's one stop short of Barking! :lol:

Yeah it's pretty amazing, kept getting compliments on it when we had friends over for a BBQ yesterday, not to mention the "is that a limo, err wait there's a front end on that end of the car" "my head can't cope" :P

Sorted the running of the front engine.... I mean the Vitesse frond end :P Runs nicely just trying to sort the Sli engine, got a spark (swapped igniter, coil, rotor arm and dizzy cap off my sterling) it turns over but doesn't fire, fuel is getting through as i undid the fuel filter 12 mm bolt and petrol fountains out..

Turned it around in my driveway, my brother at one end me at the other, certainly a surreal experience.

Progress has been slow on this, no off the shelf bolt on parts without modification and very little to no info out there on on caliper dimensions etc, i decided to bite the bullet and buy a pair of MGF rear calipers, if all else fails i can use them on my Sterling.

Used a piece of 6mm scrap plastic from work and glued it to the old caliper mounting holes then glued the handbrake carrier in the position i needed, i then had the template for the 6mm steel plate. Got some plate and the end result was only about 2mm out, nothing a little adjustment couldn't fix.

So a first for a Rover 800, i give you hand brake calipers on the front!!!

I have a pair of Rover 600 handbrake cables, these are a great fit, just waiting on the cable guide , then i can mount that to the underside and use the 3mm stainless wire to go from there to the handbrake.

I just need to make a template for the underside of the subframe to cut some 8mm ally plate to hold one end of the track rod end in place of the old steering rack mounts.

Took the "renamed" 1654 to 8272 for it's IVA test today..

The amount of looks and people filming me on their phones on the motorway on the way back was crazy :p

The main thing it failed on was the rear brakes, it passed the handbrake at 20% (190kgf ish) but with no reserve travel but the rear hydraulic side of things failed at 11%, :(

The pedal was a little spongy, i had fitted new seals and pistons to the front calipers last night (snow delayed them getting here) and it was getting late and wanted to give myself an extra hour in case of issues on the way to the test centre so had little time to check it over.

My brother followed me in my work van with tools etc and has a lot of footage from my dash cam :D

As i've never been able to test the brakes on the road today it's not easy getting it right :P

I'd love to see the testers face as he goes to get in the "wrong" drivers door! :lol:

Bit of a bugger on the brakes, when you bled the front ones last night did you lift the caliper up so the bleed nipple was as high as possible?

I bled it in situe, all bolted up. Would that make a difference as the nipple is higher than the rest of the caliper when bolted up.

Check brake proportioning valve on the bulkhead in the "front that you have designated the front" (this will get confusing fast!)

My first thought would be to replace it with something like this :
