Re: Rover 820 Vitesse Sport Lux Gold
I'll put up a proper thread in the next few days, but suffice to say James was a pleasure to deal with and I'm dead chuffed with my latest 800.
There's a long list of things to get sorted, but mostly minor niggles - the most pressing issues for me are clutch slave cylinder (either bleed or replace - experience would suggest the latter, but I haven't even looked at it yet), tracking (it is WAY off), and get the cig lighter socket working.
After that, it's gently working my way through the 'bits'. I've got things like new scuttle panel, bits of missing trim etc that should help bring it up to standard.
However, none of that will even start until 23rd September as I've got a near fortnight of commitments, so it will all go worryingly quiet until then.
And it won't be back on the road until I've sold my ZT.

What took you so long to get another Adrian?
If it's any help, i have a known good cig lighter socket if it turns out to be that is the fault - could easily be the fuse as well!

Re: Rover 820 Vitesse Sport Lux Gold
Sorry to hear the fag lighter isn't working. It was as I had my sat nav and dash cam in it, so hopefully something simple like a lose wire or a fuse?

Re: Rover 820 Vitesse Sport Lux Gold
James - even better than that! It was my crappy ebay adapter.
Basically, one like https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mini-Dual-US ... gk0gpCVs4w is too stumpy for the Rover socket (works fine in my ZT).
One like this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Micro-USB-In ... nvw52S_anA is absolutely fine. Ugly, but fine.
Longer term, I'm either going to put a cig lighter in the rear using a lighter socket from my spares stash, or hardwire my dash-cam in on a piggybacked fuse.
I also had a quick look this weekend behind the rear passenger folding grab handles to see if the wiring for the Sterling-spec handles was in place, but no joy, so sadly no bonus rear lights for my rear passengers.

Re: Rover 820 Vitesse Sport Lux Gold
Run some wiring to the rear courtesy light and piggy-back off that Adrian. It has the permanent +12v, 0v and the switched 0v so you can take your pic how they operate.
There's another solution to the generic car-charger :
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/253856301427
Piggy-back it off the fag lighter in the front then you can hide all the wiring behind the dash/trim etc for the camera and the phone could have an extension USB lead plugged in and also hidden behind the trim then brought out close to where you put your phone holder.
