Nice read of the updates.
A) Didn't know Mk1 had better rear speakers than the Mk2 Hatch.
B) Coupe and saloons use the same rear speakers. It's just that the holes 'Dont quite' fit my Pioneer TS-A2016's. Its more the mounting holes. But damn, they sound good.
3) I have bookmarked your headlining supplier. I have 3 to do!!!

What size are your Pioneer speakers Phil? I've searched online but can't find them, nearest i find is TS-A2013 which appear to be 20cm (8") with three speakers built in to the one mounting.
Cheers,
Dave

You're right. TS-A2013i speakers. Typed from memory, without looking. I searched

Clicky Magic Link

Powered by one of these

Plus, a Kenwood 4 channel amp, Alpine Component fronts, and and Alpine Sub and dedicated Sub Amp.

Thanks Phil, i've found the specs now so i can have a hunt for similar but more "cost effective" for what i'm looking for.

I currently have a nasty vibration from both rear speakers if the bass line gets a bit heavy, nothing to do with the speakers themselves, some of the lugs have broken off the original mesh so i need to find something else like speaker cloth and also something to lift said cloth above the centre speakers.

I've got an amp hidden in the boot which gives about 75W RMS per channel (set up as 2 channel but can be 3 or 4 or just one for a sub) and is driven (originally by the OE Philips R960 & 6-disc changer but now) by one of these :

Also can i ask a favour please? Can you remind me how to do the "Clicky magic link" thing please? :D
Cheers,
Dave

The speakers I used for the mk1 are Pioneer TS-G1320F. Haven't had the chance to listen to them yet but they fit perfectly in the original holes, just needed to make new mounting holes.

In the coupe I use some Alpine 3-way 8 inch speakers and they are excellent. They fit too, but the mounting holes had to be remade here too.

Now I have a question on the rear spoiler of the Vitesse. Should there be some kind of cover in the holes for the spoiler?

In my limited knowledge of Mk1 tailgate spoilers Henrik, i'd say that isn't an original. The ones i've seen have been a polyurethane foam affair with two pairs of bolt holes, one each end. Seem to recall there were bolt holes in the middle as well but can't be sure.
Cheers,
Dave

No I'm quite certain it's original, it has the same shape and layout as all of the other Vitesse spoilers. I think it can be seen here there is some kind of cap, but the pic is blurry and might not be correct here.

I did say my limited knowledge of Mk1 Vitesse spoilers Henrik, last one i saw in the flesh was very different. Saying that, i've just done a quick search and almost all of what i found was identical to yours, obviously the one i saw was the oddball! :?

Sorry to say i can't be much help on this one!
Cheers,
Dave

No worries Dave! I believe your knowledge is hard to beat, spoiler or no spoiler!

I looked at Marks thread and in the first or second page it appears to be like Mine? Hopefully Mark will pop in and ease my suffering. :D

Which Mark? Sadly I don't think me as the Mk2 spoiler is different. I did have Mk1 but that spoiler was just a little lip.

Image

But looking at your pictures, I'd undoubtably I'd say there should be a blanking plug.

The spoiler Mark has is the sort i last saw! Was Moonstone Blue, the sort of silvery blue colour available on Mk1s but not Mk2s sadly.

Dave

I think this was part of the 'Tickford' body kit. If you notice the side rubbing strips are different and it has side skirts. Bit of an 'end of line' job. Wish I'd kept the skirts though.

Oh sorry. I was referring to Dutch Mark. Or Marc seems to be correct!

But, isn’t those smaller ones from the normal mk1? The vitesse had a larger spoiler.
