Does anybody why I'm getting a little error message at the bottom of my previews please? Starts with 'php warning...'
A couple of weks back the site seemed to crash but was up and runing a day later (possibly sooner) and since then i've seen php board warnings that as far as i know, are related to the message board software the forum is built on.

Now you know the total sum knowledge i have of software, i can't offer any helpful suggestions! :P

PS - car insulation UK were the people i got mine from, i went for the normal, 5mm thick, 5m roll for about £30 but it was a few years back that i bought it. It's closed cell so won't soak up water.
Cheers,
Dave

Leak update - I'm pretty sure I've found (and stopped) the front drivers' side point of entry. The sunroof drains was doing a weird 'spit-back' thing, where despite running cleanly on to the road in the correct way, it was also popping back out of the join that usually fails. It would then slowly wick down, and start pooling. It wouldn't do it every time, but I couldn't get to predict it. So, instead, I put a little in-fill piece between the two parts and that seems to have resolved it.

So far seems dry at the front left, but not counting any chickens just yet. Then time to work backwards...

That's their favourite trick.

The only way of stopping it is with the reducers i've mentioned in the past and the method to fit them For £3-4 for a pair and some epoxy resin glue, it's a cheap fix that lasts. :D

I should say, it was the water spitting back - not the pipe!

I have to say, I struggled with the reducer solution. Far more effective for me has been inserting a couple of inches of UPCV hose (like windscreen washer/fish tank hose) that goes tightly over the firm pipe from the sunroof (if softened in boiling water first), and fits snuggly inside the rubber drain duck-bill.

I did that a good few months ago on the passenger side, and that drain has behaved impeccably since.

Your fix with the pipe was what i did first time round some years ago. That eventually leaked because the pipe from the sunroof shrunk and the inlet to the valve/elbow/drain stretched.

Hence the tubing adaptor, secured in the pipe from the roof with epoxy resin and the barbs on the other end gripping the valve tubing.

In other news, guess what i found today?
Cheers,
Dave

Aha! Centre console! Superb work.

Drop me a PM with a price inc postage if you wouldn't mind? No hurry, my interior isn't going back in any time soon.

The search goes on

Today I found another leak on the drivers' side - this time from WAY up. I was having a proper sense of humour failure about the location of it, frankly.

You can just about make it out in this picture, the dark spot in the upper left third:

If you want to orient yourself, I'd say that's pretty much where the bottom corner of the windscreen is on the drivers side.

Open to all suggestions

After a lot of thinking, i'd say that's come from a badly fitted windscreen Adrian.

The failure is of the body seam isn't it? Otherwise, the water wouldn't be getting through, even if the screen was crap? Or, as is possible, am I over looking something?

I can't say for sure, i'm not familiar enough with how the body is put together in that area, never needed to be and bodywork isn't my favourite thing so never looked depper into it.

Still have the gut feeling there's something you're overlooking but have no idea what. Maybe someone who has done a fair bit of welding and/or bodywork on them will have a better idea and can give you some pointers.

Dave

This is taken looking back towards the driver from the bulkhead (imagine the camera was on the bulkhead looking back towards to the boot) , but the white thing is taped up under the dash, right above the accelerator, and that brown, broken threaded stub seems to be the last remaining leak on the drivers side.

What the hell is it?! I've forced some rubberised roof sealant into the tiny gap, so hopefully that'll do it.

Got me confused! The screw might be one from the scuttle panel if the pic shows where i think it is.

I don't recall ever seeing the white plastic bits in any of the ones i've broken. Might be wrong though.
