Glad you found a good home for it Scott!
My finger slipped, honest guv....
I'll resurrect my (technically 12 year old ) thread and one day dive back into the old girl and bring her back to how I remember it
Thanks to Scott and Harry for honouring the first refusal on sale. This means the world to me having this car back.

Very fitting and very funny. I think it's how most of us rebuild our cars these days . Given the history of TGM, it seems particulaly apt.

I think that link has changed (wasn't it blue?). Did the original listing make reference to a garage that had maintained the car? And can you remember what it was please?scotty2 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 28, 2023 11:30 am
Harry's new steed, still in the same marque.

That's weird. Yes it is a blue 400. That is the same guy selling another one. He is a bit of a Rover collector and dealer. Lots of Allegro spares.
It was maintained at Lookers Stockport.

Re: Thunderbird2 & Turbo Coupes
Update on TB2.
Bit of an oil leak developing and service due so I got her on the ramps and did a look round and changed oil and filter. Checking for leaks, it looks like the Oil pump seal (crank shaft seal) but there is also oil all the way up the block. I got some engine degreaser and powerwashed the engine. I then changed the cam cover oil seals as that looked a possibility.
I'll run her for a couple of days, order a crank seal and see if I have found the source(s) !

Re: Thunderbird2 & Turbo Coupes
Could also be the camshaft seals Scott. There are other possibilities but the easy/obvious are the things to check first - also worth checking the breathers aren't blocked, they can cause excessive oil pressure to squirt oil out of (and sometimes break) seals.
