Re: Thunderbird 2, The Green Machine & Turbo Coupe
Short answer Scott is i don't know. I do know the Chinese changed a few things and looking on RImmers it appears that from 2000 onwards, there was a new design master cylinder that superseded the SJC10007 which was shared with ABS versions of the 800 (except KV6) models.
The LE 500 being 5 years later is almost certainly not compatible. It might be and i might be wrong but i wouldn't want to risk it.

Re: Thunderbird 2, The Green Machine & Turbo Coupe
Just visited TB2 in the Garage. He is having to borrow a pressure bleeder to get it bled. Not just me then!
Master cylinder fitted (change reservoir over) and new rear discs and pads. Just bleeding then MOT.
One of his customers saw the car on the ramp and declared that "These Rover 800s are worth a lot of money now."
Thankfully I have three!

Pressure bleeding is virtually the only way Scott!

Re: Thunderbird 2, The Green Machine & Turbo Coupe
Second hand MGTF one did fit but the seals are also shot! Sending that one back and the replacement I ordered that "Fits Rover 800 2.0 1998 - Doesn't!!
It is the same (externally) as my MGTF, so I am trying to get either a seal kit or another Master Cylinder for an MGTF.
SJC1007 seems to be NLA but it is very similar to many Land Rover Discovery ones... Wonder if one of them would fit?

I don't think the Disco one is suitable Scott, different mounting angles for a start. Granted you may be able to swap the reservoir but i think the Disco in question was much later with a different ABS system - if i'm right you might find it doesn't work when it needs to most.

TB2: Another MGTF master cylinder has now arrived, been fitted and given the seal of approval (!).
MOT time now.

Re: Thunderbird 2, The Green Machine & Turbo Coupe
Boot won't shut. Makes the correct noise when the button is pressed but no movement on the latch. At least it's stuck in an open position and not shut! I'll have to whip it out to have a look.

Re: Thunderbird 2, The Green Machine & Turbo Coupe
There's nothing complicated in there and if the motor's working, I guess you'll be fine. Hopefully just needs a clean.
The key lock on the Vitesse won't turn, it's like it's from a different set. Embarrassingly, I can't get the lock out to look at it . I'll need to look again because if my remote release fails, I'm in trouble.

Re: Thunderbird 2, The Green Machine & Turbo Coupe
Boot Latch sorted! I took the latch and solenoid out and it seemed to be OK. Plunger on solenoid working and springs on latch OK. Put it back together and it still wouldn't latch shut. When my son triggered the switch, I could see it operating when I latched with a screw driver. Now I had pulled at the striker and it seemed solid. Got my 10mm socket to check how tight it was and, well, it wasn't. Slackened off, pulled up and tightened.
Slam, click locked! Button pushed, and open! Hurrah! And it is a fine spring day too!
Note to self - Check the bloody simple stuff first!
TB2 is booked in to get the sills and arches repainted after a bit of tidying up the frilly bits with some new metal. Just a little bit at the usual rear arch/sill join.
(The Mk1 latch seems to be the same for the Mk2 if that helps anyone in the future.)

Re: Thunderbird 2, The Green Machine & Turbo Coupe
Brilliant news Scott - i should have thought of that as i had it happen on my Sterling not long after i got it but in all honesty, that was 12+ years ago and i'd forgotten until you mentioned it.
