Rover 825SD her first 30 years,
as classic car with more of 30 years will no longer pay any tax,
reduced insurance just about 200e year,
regular diesel price: 1,6 e L.
colored diesel for agriculture or boating price: 0,8 e L.
industrial vegetable oil price: 0,45 e L.
the drawbacks of using pure vegetable oil in old pre-chamber diesels
are the need for preheating in winter and the smell of fried potatoes.
Before or late I must replace interior, after years of hard use the driver seat is horrible,
I have to find rover 800 donor to cannibalize.
I can't upload images NET::ERR_CERT_DATE_INVALID

Wow, congrats on your 30 years Marco! Have you owned the car from new?
With the drivers seat, keep your eyes peeled on ebay UK for a front passenger seat. Often these are hardly if ever used so tend to stay like new, the problem would be shipping it to Italy though!
If you did manage to find one and get it to Italy, you could simply swap the bits over that you need as the drivers seat base i believe has extra functions over what the passenger seat offers.

Hi Dave,
first owner of this car was a boss of pasta industry (spaghetti and maccaroni)
I had this car as payment for my service for this industry, about year 2002.
I bet if the old owner know this car still survive will try to buy again.
Find a old 800 to cannibalize in Italy is very difficult, most of them have been destroyed.

You've owned the car for 2/3 of its life so far then Marco, quite an achievement! What colour is your interior trim and is it cloth or leather? Might know of some seats available locally although i think the owner got rid some time back.FlashGordon wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 8:12 amHi Dave,

The seats are in leather, light ivory, but i worry shipping from Uk will be too expensive Dave.

Certainly shipping a complete seat would be Marco, however if you can find someone willing to remove the covers and cushions from a passenger seat and just send those it would be much cheaper on shipping.
I did have the right leather seats a few years ago (the colour is known as Stone Beige here) but i passed them to another member to refurbish the seats in another car he had.
How bad exactly is the drivers seat in yours? There are products to revive and colour leather, the cushion can be pushed up using carpet underlay and only a 10mm thick sheet between the cushion and metal spring framework makes a huge difference. This could be a much more cost-effective way of reviving your drivers seat!

Only the leather covers can be interesting Dave,
don't need cushions, they are still decent and not deformed.
I can no longer upload images in this forum, I think because of the win7 operating system that I still insist on using,
in any case the driver seat is crumbling, losing leather parts, I don't think it can be repaired.
I had the third dose of covid vaccine pfizer this morning, pfizer pharmaceutical also make viagra, I hope girlfriend dont wait for some extra performance.

I'll try and find out from the person who had my old ones if he kept the originals they replaced which i understand were pretty good anyway but mine were all the same colour which i belive was the reason for changing them all.
As for the Pfizer booster, it doesn't work that way so your girlfriend will be disappointed!
That said, it has made my left foot hard and swollen but i think that's just coincidence - i'll find out monday hopefully after the X-rays!
