So what boost are you running paul?

The intercooler is just one of the mods I plan to do and I am currently running induction kit and 12psi of boost.
I run about 13psi by mechanical controller, KN filter in box (the best option) and full flow 2.5 Mongoose. I'd really like a cookie downpie or similar.

It's the same flange as the R820, however I think the exhaust housing is turned the other way on the Nissan so not sure if it works? I'm pretty sure I've read on Rovertech about someone who did it though. Over here a custom pipe is in the region of £300 so not happening. Yet.

Ive priced up all the parts I neex and if I do it myself I can do it for under £150.

Let's be honest here.

Whats the point, unless your going to use it as a track day car or run the lights at Santa Pod, and then I can think of a few cars that would be better suited.

On the UK roads where can you properly use increased power? All I can see happening is a much lighter wallet from the spend plus the extra fuel, and then, the damage caused to all the other components that were not upgraded such as gearbox,clutch and the like.

If the Vitesse is maintained correctly and set up the car is quick enough in factory standard. 0-60mph in 7.3 secs not too shabby by todays standards for a big car.

I wouldn't mind a larger bore downpipe elbow (the first section, getting rid of the very restricted area) as this would ease the exhaust gasses thus making the turbo colder = lower intake temps etc. Also I wouldn't mind a tad larger turbo for the same reason. So "bolt on" -stuff could be a good idea to make the engine more reliable! However as it is now, regarding the cars age, passing 200.000 kilometres I'm not putting that extra cash into the car. I rather get the interior and exterior up to a better standard including suspension and bushes. As stated, the car is quick enough and will never be a racer anyway.

I made a fabricated turbo elbow for my Vitesse Coupe for under £70. It really perked the car up. The full benefit of any modifcation made up stream of this will not be full realised without the fabricated elbow.

I had rebuilt the engine, ported the head and manifolds,fitted a K&N panel filter a Vitesse 180 exhaust cam and a t25 hybrid turbo. All of this made it feel better but it wasn't until I fitted the fabricated elbow did I feel the true benefit of all my modifications. The car breathed much better. The turbo reaches boost threshold a lot quicker and delivers a better punch. Personally I would make this my first modification on a standard Vitesse along with changing the turbine housing from 0.48 to 0.63. Also check you have the correct 200BHP Vitesse exhaust system fitted as it is possible to have fit from the cat back a KV6 or standard 2 litre exhaust post 1996.
