My 800's past and present

I know I have so far only ever owned 1 800 Rover.....and it is a Mark 1 so I am probably bound to be biased........but I do think the Mark 1 is the nicer looking car.
Having said that ......a friend here who has had both mark 1 and 2 versions has told me the Mark 2 models handle better!!

An impressive collection over time Chris. I had a similar experience with Mark 1 and 2 Triumph 2000/2500 vehicles till I saw the light and went Rover

A guy on Rovertech now owns it. I believe it's been painted and undergoing modifications.

Which cars particularly Paul? I haven't altered the thread for a while TBH.

I was also biased until Brad lent me a mk2 Sterling (Now in my possesion) compared to the mk1 the mk2 was very refined, alot more comfortable and felt very well put together. The mk2's dont have as much toys as the mk2 the the comfort and ride handle more than makes up for that.

I still love all mk1's though

Not needing them is always a good approach. Things seem to fall on your lap if you're not looking for them in my experience.

That and spending lots of time on ebay helps or not depending how you look at it.

Hmm, that gives me an idea. I wonder how many of the cars I've owned have been bought through ebay? Maybe later.

I have followed this thread closely. I shan't put up all the models owned and colours etc. Suffice to say that apart from a Bolero red and a diesel, I have owned every colour, every model and every shape made 1986 to 1996. As well as about 6 or 7 KV6 Sterlings (all non runners, though) and a 1997 Vitesse Coupe. In total, somewhere between 165 and 170 over 22 years.

What would be interesting to know is how many of my cars, or Chris's cars or any Forum members cars are still owned by Forum members. In other words, how many are still "in the family group"?

I have got a list...and I have finished downsizing. I bought Dan's Dad's black 827Si and IceMan Trev's gold R reg Coupe since Christmas. I have the 800s I want now. Just fetching MGMal's black 827Coupe in 2 weeks and that'll be it unless something really special pops up - like a low mileage black Sterling fastback 827 mark 2.

Moving onto other cars now.
