Plus on the 1/4 mile a huge influence is grip for the launch, that's why generally RWD is the way to go, and it's very hard to make a FWD really fast. Add to that the weight of the vehicle, Jago would probably gain a fair bit by totally stripping the thing out (like Chris's or Pete's old one), removing the bumper crash bars, swapping glass for plastic etc.. But then you've got a race car !
Look at that 10 second 200 bubble, he's running about 800bhp and it's still baddly hamperred by FWD, if you watch his 1/4's he usually gets taken from the line and then passes them half way down the strip.
I bet Jago's car is awsome out on the road though, 50-70 must be pretty rapid, especially with a bit of gas.

those are the auto car tests, however just getting the launch right could see another half second off my times, jago wrote:just to put it into context:
MK2 Launch Review - Autocar - 13/11/91 (820i) : is 17.2 @ 83mph
MK1 827 Sterling 'Catalyst' - Autocar - 28/06/1989: is 16.9 @ 82mph
Vitesse Sport - Autocar & Motor 27/07/94 : is 15.8 @ 90mph
MK1 825 Sterling Vs Jag XJ6 2.9 - What Car - Feb 87 : is 16.1 @87mph
i'm not going to remove any of the interior as then it's not a road car in my eyes, however i am changing the set-up in the boot for a more secure and lighter one, mainly as the scrutineer didn't like my wood in the boot floor for mounting the bottle to.
to mention drag, i have felt a difference with the twr bumpers...for the worse, they are heavy and not good for the 'cd' of the car, however they look nice, i guess i cant have it all....
the only thing i'm not too keen on at the moment is the resionance in the exhaust at 3-4k however thats mainly inside not outside.

my leads are new oem ones from e-bay, they came with all the clips and are numbered too, it took me a long time to find new red leads...or i could have spent £130+ on magnecore leads...however these were £35 ish
