Not to put anyone off from going but check with the POL site before setting off. We have had a lot of rain recently and a couple of years ago it was cancelled from going onto the field as it was water logged and everyone was parked on the pavements around the park and to be frank was chaos.

Fingers crossed that the weather improves and is dry for the day.
Unfortunately Steve, we might not know till the very morning of saturday, just like we did 2 years ago. There was snow actually that morning...

On a side-note, does anyone know which area of Cofton Park was allocated to the 800 Owners' Club? We're supposed to have a sign with that number on placed behind the windshield to help mashalls direct us to our respective areas...

I'll be attending in my 820 Vitesse Fastback. Would bring my HHR 400 diesel as well, but it's sadly in dock currently.
Fingers crossed for the weather - hopefully not like 2016!

Hope to see some of you there

Sadly Nick I believe the Organisers aren't saying much about numbers and stands and the Club aren't saying much either. Suppose to be 32 800's turning up so should be easy to spot hopefully

Staying at home and building an ark instead Simon? :P

I've not been to PoL but i understand from everything i've read on here and other places it's quite an event and can only guess at the disappointment the weather has caused for everyone.

Just a thought of consolation - 2013 started almost exactly the way this year has in terms of weather although we still had snow on the ground at this point back then. When the summer came it was a beautiful one so fingers crossed we're in for a good one so hopefully a few more shows will be better attended because we can! :D
Cheers,
Dave

For those that have never been, what a shame the weather was a day late.

Steve - for us "non-Facebook abusers" can you give a brief explanation of what it says please?
Cheers,
Dave

It was a video taken by somebody today driving around the Longbridge roads. I would have thought you would still be able to see it though.

Nah, it insisted that i MUST sign in (kind of hard without a Faceache account but i don't like tracking cookies being attached to my bank account!) before i could see anything and it also erroneously linked to a "Millennial Interview" which i've already seen on YouTube...........
Cheers,
Dave

I didn't go, it looked like a H+S nightmare, I've heard stories of people being shouted at by 'her ladyship' who donned a hi-vis and started acting like god by all accounts, also there's too many chavs turning up at these events now, mainly because a ZR or ZS is dirt cheap to buy and then they spend money on ruining it.

Someone even graffited MG Motor property, its hardly the right image is it?

The sad fact is that its now so far removed from its original premise that I reckon the true enthusiasts will stay away.

I agree Benny, Myself and Dollysprint when two years ago when the same thing happened due to waterlogged field but we were not aware of cancellation as it didn't happen and then only via facebook saturday morning. Zr's and Zs's driving around the longbridge roads with max power exhausts enthusiastically in 1st and 2nd gear didn't do it for me hence didn't go this year. When the weather is good and on the field it is a good day ago and a precursor to the show season. a good shake down if nothing else and out of the house or garage.
