The historic Police run got a mention in the spring edition of Practical Classics, with promise of a full feature in coming months

Re: Historic Police run (pic heavy)
Just found/caught up on this thread! Awesome pics as ever Kate and i'm sure it's a day for your memoirs.
Terrible shame the "proper" Police workshops and traffic garages are going/gone and it's all down to private contractors now - you just know you'll turn up to collect a car for duty one day and it won't be done because Mrs Jones had a problem with her arthritic 1982 Fiesta and she needed it desperately to visit poor, sick Uncle George.....

Re: Historic Police run (pic heavy)
The July edition of Practical Classics has the full feature on the Historic Run as Slamm mentions above. It mainly centres on the SD1 but there's a couple of people in there who state the Rover 827 is their favourite vehicle - one cites the Fastback Area car and another mentions a 1995 827 coupe - was/is there a coupe on the fleet Kate?
You also get a mention (not by name) by the journo who did the article in PC as he rode shotgun in the SD1 and he says words to the effect that the professionalism and skill of the motorcycle outriders helped enormously through the London traffic.
Makes for interesting reading!
