RollHard Bicester 4th August
A few pictures from RollHard a show I attended with the Rover. It was the only Rover there amid the hundreds of BMW's and VW's
The only Rover there ! I was fortunate enough to be pulled out the queue and asked to park by the main area, made my day, a sign perhaps some people are beginning to appreciate our cars, it got a lot of attention and positive comments despite being very much the odd one out.

Some slick vidoes of the show.
Yes I know not your normal Rover 800 forum thing, air suspension and wonky wheels but there is a lot of retro car appreciation out there and variety is the spice of life.

Couple of weeks later the Rover was in the London Cartel show at Ardingly, a huge modified car show.
Pictures by Dan of the Fraud owners club,
Again lots of positive comments, there is hope yet for our old Rovers.

Re: RollHard Bicester 4th August
It has not just been modified car shows we attended. My first proper car show was in July, the 2 day Historic Vehicle Gathering at Powderham Castle in Devon, this show was massive, everything from steam vehicles to supercars and autojumble and stalls with a central parade field. I was there on the Sunday as part of the Modern Classics area.
Just the 2 pictures unfortunately.

Thanks Tony, I have never really done the shows thing before so it is nice to get some appreciation, the old Vitesse even gets noticed when filling up at petrol stations recently, something that has never happened in 20 years of 800 ownership.

At least the Norton hadn't been lowered so much that it looked like something from a circus

Some great pics there Jim! Out of interest, where did you get the threaded collar for the expansion tank cap to screw onto?

Haha Richard I know, all in the name of fashion.
Thanks Dave, the expansion tank I bought complete, no idea who made it or where the parts came from.

Thanks Jim, i'll keep hunting! I've found what i believe is a way to weld aluminium cheaply and easily so i'm looking for an aluminium neck for the cap. It's either that or use a more "traditional" cap without the vent pipe.820Vitesse wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2019 2:32 pmHaha Richard I know, all in the name of fashion.
