Well i managed the March meet but forgot to take any pics so luckily i managed yesterays meet too! Not many pics as we were rained off (or should that be rained on) shortly into the meet so adjourned to the lounge bar for coffee, tea and similar. Forming into small cluster-groups, some people disappeared before i was able to take a few pics, here are the better ones :

Arthurs coupe and Kevs V8 VDP (with another Rover owners bike hiding in between  )

Image

Not entirely sure on the owners of the two P6Bs here but the Vitesse Fastback is urbanvikings and my coupe is tucked on the end

Image

I was a little late getting to the meet as i stopped to collect a circular saw on the way. Although that sounds totally irrelevant to cars in general, it will in fact be used to make some moulds for cold-cure polyurethane bushes. Bushes for things like anti-roll bars (only ones available from Rimmers or anyone else now are the 25mm front anti roll bar bushes) and also the drop links - in the fullness of time as and when failure necessitates replacement, other bushes will be added, assuming of course the cold-cure PU does what it says on the bottles! It's Shore A95 hardness so slightly stiffer than Polyflex/Superflex/Polybush stiffest offerings and if it works then softer compounds are available. Once the ARB bush moulds are made it will be easy to adapt them to make bushes for the thinner ARBs (aka standard) so fingers crossed.

Back to the meet itself, was great to catch up again and also lovely to meet Arthur - a relatively new member of the 800 clan but if you cut him in half, he would have "ROVER" running through him like a stick of rock! Make sure you look after that coupe and keep up the good work on the Fastback!
Cheers,
Dave

These series 2 SD1s are, in my opinion, the best looking cars that Rover ever produced. Nothing else (except perhaps the P5 Coupe) has this presence.

Too "70s" for you Steve? You can always change the interior if you wanted?

I'm sure the regulars have already been emailed but just a reminder that the monthly Cambs/Beds/Herts meet at The British Queen Meldreth http://www.thebritishqueen.com/ SG8 6LB will be on Saturday 6/12/14 from 2pm onwards.

Always a bit quieter this time of year but the company is always as good, all Rovers/MG's or other vehicles of interest welcome. You don't have to come in your Rover/MG/Roewe.

The food is very good at the pub but if you wish to eat please arrive earlier as the kitchen closes at 2pm, I can recommend the food highly and it is a fair price too. They also do good kids meals so bring the family, look forward to seeing you all, both old and new faces and don't forget your wooly pully.

Cheers :D

Just a reminder that the monthly Cambs/Beds/Herts meet at The British Queen Meldreth http://www.thebritishqueen.com/ SG8 6LB will be on Saturday 3/1/15 from 2pm onwards.

Always a bit quiet this time of year but the company is always as good and it's a decent pub (often with an open fire on the go to warm the bones of the adventurous Roverist too), all Rovers/MG's or other vehicles of interest welcome. Don't feel that you have to come in your Rover/MG/Roewe, we realise some people take their pride and joy off the road this time of year.

Hi,

Do you have a Feb and March meet? If so, is it the first Saturday of the month?

Evenin' all, it's that time again. This months all rover meet at The British Queen 94 High Street Meldreth Cambs SG8 6LB will be this coming saturday from 2pm onwards. Our illustrious leader Kev Clark will be otherwise detained so I will be minding the shop in his absence, as mentioned in above posts if you wish to make use of the fine dining capabilities of Keith and his team please arrive early as the kitchen closes at 2pm. The food is very good and they do kids meals too all at reasonable prices, just the thing to chase out the cold on a crisp february afternoon.
