Is LPG still as popular as it once was?

My thinking is based on the number of people driving diesels (me included) and that newer/smaller petrol turbos are already very economical in theory.

Is it really only something older larger engined cars are using or is there always a steady uptake of new installs even now?

I can't answer for certain but there are still installers out there doing a trade so presumably yes. I can't work out why people still want to pay well over £1/L when there is something that much cheaper - laziness i suppose in as much as they don't know anything about it and are too lazy to find out or perhaps fear of the unknown.

There was a post a while back on the LPG forum where someone had just bought a new Bentley and wanted it converted. How new i'm not sure, may have been brand spanking or a year or two old but if you're only getting 8mpg then i'd rather it was at half price too!
