Subject says it all really, popping my nose in for a shufty about the place, seems quiet.

Anyone still lurking daily?

Every day!

A diminishing number, reflected in the seriously diminishing numbers of 800s knocking about I guess.

Tell me about it. I've been idly checking once or twice a week since I last had an 800 (y'know, as you do), and it's shocking how few come up on the sale sites and eBay - even more so 820 Vitesse models that might actually tempt me.

Still popping in despite selling up 4.5 years ago.

I don't think it's just related to the number of cars for the lack of traffic here?

I think things like Facebook are to blame too. Much easier to post on there these days than here.

Vittesses are thin on the ground , but they still come up...

a few years ago members used to flag up all 800`s for sale from ebay or elsewhere
doesn't happen so often now,,,
but that's not really the purpose of the forum .

I like the general chat about all things 800 and have learned loads on here.
I also try to help out others with problems , where I can , but I don't know the technical stuff so much.

Mostly daily lurker still.

Now I own a Vitesse funnily enough!

Good luck tomorrow with the '93 Flame red one ;-)

Regular lurker and poster, there's a few new members on here that have only recently discovered the joys of the 800 but i think a lot of the reduced traffic on here is due to faceache as others have mentioned and the reduced number of 800s around now. The reaction i get these days when driving any of mine is (assuming they know what it is of course!) firstly amazement the head gasket hasn't gone  then i explain it doesn't have a K-Series and secondly that it's still in good condition and in regular use. Often the next reaction is do i want to sell it with an offer of considerable size.

Most of the regulars still on here use their cars regularly, many are daily drivers of their 800s but a lot of people who were about a few years ago have sold up and moved on to different marques.

I think what is left is the "hardcore enthusiasts" for the most part these days. :D

I don't understand the idea that Facebook is a more attractive place. Aside from having to read inane post about what people's guinea pigs had for breakfast, the way posts appear and are arranged prevents any sort of useful archive being created. It's full of nonsensical chatter and very little knowledge or intelligence.

My apologies to anyone who posts on there, I don't seem to be able to mention "social media" without ranting these days.

Well said Tom, As a newbie here I much prefer a forum as to Facebook, just full of people wanting to be so called friends... :( And trying to find any related issues with your motor just disappears amongst all the insane chatter. :? that's modern day life I expect!

PMSL @ guinea pigs breakfast!

It does sum up so-called social media very well though, i prefer to call it anti-social media as it stops people actually speaking and interacting with each other and loses the social aspect of being human. It's also spawned "selfies" - can you imagine going into Boots 30 years ago with your camera film to get it developed full of pictures of yourself? The shop assistant/developer would probably hand it back with a note of the next "How to use your camera" lesson at your local Adult Education College! Not to mention all the extremely strange looks from the staff!
