Mildly amusing or not? You decide!

Post by CHR15E » Thu Jan 23, 2020 1:40 am

For quite a while now I've noticed the odd R800 number plate on various different cars.

Never anything Rover related though.

Last weekend while out I spotted a surprising choice of plate on a SEAT.

I wished I'd actually taken a photo of it now. It amused me anyway.

A quick Google has come up with these.

There's a similar Rxx NOB plate round my neck of the woods Chris, think it's R12 but might be wrong. Obviously a hidden meaning somewhere only apparent to the owners of the plates.

There's currently a J reg BMW E30 for sale in Practical Classics with the plate "J800 RVR", sort of tempting just for the plate.

There are a lot of number plates around that are interesting, amusing etc, i never seem to find any though!

I see a lot of clever ones here and there.

There seems to be a new take on them these days. Not necessarily being car or even name related.

PA57YAA is one from an Astra group member that I think is clever. It reads as PAST YAA just incase it's not obvious.

Years ago, I got overtaken (at enormous speed) by a Delta Intergrale that was HHS 004W

When you see it in your rear view mirror, it's "WHOOSHH"

Hang 0n - it must have been something else! Cos that's nonsense.

Maybe it was HSS 500W ?

You were probably right the first time Adrian, especially if it had the "digital" font as the 4s look like "H"s.

Good either way! :D

There's one round my way that is T124 CEE but the front plate is arranged so the 1 and 2are very close together and no gap between the 4 and C so it spells TRACEE.

Also the place i go for my MoTs has WH 04 MOT (on a Transit Luton) but arranged as WH0 4 MOT on a few plates stuck on the side, top of the Luton body. Obviously the normal number plates have to be arranged correctly considering the line of work they're in! :P

Dave

I used to see an Audi parked up, on my way home from work, most nights.

I saw a good one yesterday on a Citroen (C5?) that was CE55 POT - no need for altered spacing!

That said, given the way some people round here talk, they might think it reads "SEX POT" - how wrong they are!

Weirdly, showing as taxed, but not MOT-ed since 2018?
