Odd about the tax though, i've known DVLAs records to be slightly incorrect at times, my old Jeep Cherokee showed no MoT history at all when i first got it but suggested the MoT it had a few months into my ownership was the first one for many years. It now shows a normal, full history.

I've never known that.

He's spent all his money on road tax I reckon, nothing left for the MOT. It's high rate £555 a year.

Unless they've changed the rules Adrian, i think if you want to sell a registration on you either need to have the vehicle MoT'd or the reg on a retention certificate. Could be why he's not sold the plate on?
