Re: 1935 morris 18/6.. resto/update/modernise
I have not got very far with this, however I have done a few little bits.. and more recently I have made a start on the wings and inner wings which will (hopefully) be in one piece again, very soon, have chosen to rebuild the inner wings rather than make new ones, the main reason being I feel better to have as much of the original car as possible, upgrades being the exception off course, I may have to modify them further down the road but for now as std as possible.. the a pillar has been repaired, the n/s wing has been repaired around the headlamp mount, and the a pillar attachment.. the inner wing was almost beyond, but needed a new base where it mounts on the chassis and a new edge where the two wings join and a new end piece, just needs the main wing joint sorting out to join them together.. regards ricky

bit more done it now has steering, the column is mounted and joined to the rack, quite easy in the end just extended the rod between the u.j's with a 3mm thick tube welded and cotter pinned for extra security.. the dash will need a bit more strengthening just in case, it is only screwed into wood so will make some support brackets for it.. regards ricky

Re: 1935 morris 18/6.. resto/update/modernise
I have spent probably the equivalent of at least a week rebuilding the wing on the n/s and it still needs more work, I was asking for some info/pics for the front where the wing joins the grill sort of area, and I get offered 2 front wings nervously I said how much? and to my surprise he said £50...…… the pair...……… trying not to be to excited I said i'll have them... where are you, Stranraer he replied..... an 800mile round trip.... in my Peugeot that's about £200 fuel plus b+b etc still cheap but almost beyond me... we tried to find a trucker to bring them down south, no go.... then he asked parcel force they said yes £50 the pair so I have now got (soon to be delivered) 2 front wings that don't need anywhere near the work that my wings need, and I am very happy and feeling rather smug at the moment.. hopefully will get some good work done with this soon... regards ricky

Re: 1935 morris 18/6.. resto/update/modernise
I have got the wings which compared to mine are mint, inner and outer all one piece and a couple of light repairs and they are good.. in the lockdown I have been doing lots of welding and grinding and some more grinding and its grinding my nerves... lol the rear of the car is mostly stable now still have some grinding to do but it is getting there rear wings are rusty but not beyond and very simple to do, I have it on stands old axle off new axle ready to be aligned up and fitted, more welding and grinding, have built the front kick panel and trans tunnel, brake servo/pedals bolted down.. steering column fitted and tested.. have decided to fit air suspension all round, front is on the car, rear will be fitted with the rear axle then maybe a trip to hayes to see a man about a controller for the air suspension, have ordered some equipment for shaping the metal so I can do some more welding and griiinnding…. I hope everyone is keeping safe will no doubt see some of you at the shows when we are out of lockdown.. regards ricky
