Re: the "mad maestro"
the morris is very slow because of all the other cars around me but have finally finished mounting the front subframe, the n/s front wing is happily reunited with it's inner self, been trying to get some of the other morris 18 owners to take some pictures of the wing connection so I can see how it mates up to the grill and front apron as mine is all missing, might as well talk to myself can get pics from the net but not the ones that I want, so might have to wing it it'll be alright on the night... lol..... I must admit the sterling was going to be the last to sell but needs and a buyer must... lol

Progress is progress thogh Rick, as long as you're getting there. My mistake, thought ti was an 806, same car, just newer for the 807.
I suppose in the great scheme of things the exact order of sale isn't too important as long as it all happens.

Re: the "mad maestro"
well I was wrong although the thrust bearing was very noisy it did not cure the issue, the lesson: when you have taken the gearbox off always check the clutch properly... the issue was the spline teeth in the centre of the clutch plate had stripped on one of the plates.. the cause of this was one of the dowels were missing in the bellhousing.. it now has 12 months mot and is parked at my mums until the lockdown is over, then I will decide whether to do some bodywork or not.. but is now mobile just needs a few minor issues doing to make it reliable again.. and well in need of a good valet.. regards ricky

Don't you just love sneaky faults Rick? Glad you got it sorted and it's mobile again though!
