Someone mentioned Jeremy Corben, whenever i see him i always think of John Major. Anyone who remembers the "Spitting Image" John Major puppet will remember he was varying shades of grey as well.
Having said that, i do like progress but it needs to be progress in a way we all like. If we could get the old look and feel back or at least something pretty close and keep the ease of use for the toy computer brigade while making pages load fast enough for us rural users to be able to load a page faster than we can read it then maybe everyone will be reasonably happy.
You'll never please all the people all of the time etc but with a very grey looking website, we are likely to scare potential new members away to join the John Major Branch of the Alan Partridge Club. It meets on the 5th friday of the month at a venue that alternates between Huntingdon and Norwich..............
Last but by no means least, an ongoing big "thank you" to James for providing his time and resources!
Toys?
I dare say some of the newer phones and tablets are more powerful than the PCs or Laptops being used by people on here?
Personally I think both have their place depending on the task being undertaken.
As you say you can't please everyone, I think as times change and 'toys' become the norm for most people it will be more important than ever that the site looks good on them.
I know I don't frequent here as much as some of you now and obviously it's important to keep existing valued members happy but for the future I think we must move with the times and support change to not be left behind.
There's quite a few members who rarely post here these days but do post on the Facebook group, which I suspect will have been a lot to do with the previous setup? We suffered for a long time with the site being awkward to use on our toys.
I'm sure James can come up with something though, he us the guru after all.
