Group Photobucket details
There's actually two. I forgot the first and made another.
I guess we should make another for .info.

User = rover800-co-uk
Password = rover800
Addition arranged by Kyle.
I have created a separate folder for storing cars, make a sub folder for each car advertised entitled with its reg?

e.g.

Perhaps make this a sticky and repost the photobucket passwords + user ID in this thread so that people can access photobucket easier.
Photobucket has a function to grab the photos directly off ebay.

I can see your thinking, but it would kind of defeat the purpose of having a group account in the first place. If people had to either ask for the password or get a member of staff to upload the photo, then it's quicker and easier just to use your own Photobucket account.47p2 wrote:Maybe you should keep the password out of the public domain, incase anyone goes on and deletes everything

True, but then what's to stop then giving the password out to others?47p2 wrote:Surely if anyone wants the password a member of admin could pm them
Not really a big fan of group Photobucket accounts, to be honest, I prefer to use my own. A 'Gallery' thread or similar normally serves the same purpose, but gives users more control over their own images.

I can see you're thinking John. Not sure on that. Wasn't a problem before, though things have changed a bit since then.

Same for me, just that others were struggling.richard moss wrote:I just have my own account - I never bothered with the group one.

Photo-bouquet? Or is it photobucket?
Hi all,
let's get back to basics for little old me please!!
What the airborne fornication is a photobucket? And why have an account for it?
Right joking aside, i've made the point i know almost nothing about photobucket.com or whatever it is, i'm guessing it's a photo hosting site so we can upload pics of our beloved beasties?
Is that right? If so, could someone please explain, in very simple terms (treat me as a 4 year old, just for this though!!) how i either access the group account or set up my own and how i would set up links to the photos on it?
Seriously, i haven't got the foggiest on this one and really do need very simple help on it!!! I've got some pics that i feel sure the members would like to see (including an 820i/Si engine in a Montego, what a machine!!) and would really love to get them uploaded!!
Many thanks,
Dave

Basically find the photobucket site. Then use the details in the first post of this thread to log in. Or create your own account if you prefer.
This is Mo's post out the faq section.
How do I post Images?
There isn't the option to upload to our server - if we had a server crash we could lose all the images and if we did recover the system, they may not display properly.
The easy way is something like a (free) account at www.photobucket.com . Once you've set up your account, you can bulk upload the photos from your hard drive to your photobucket album and then link from there. You can create multiple albums to keep stuff separate. You can set a default size when you upload - a setting of 640 x 480 pixels (PB call it "large") will keep it sensible when displaying on the forum.
Once uploaded, each picture has a number of automatically generated links displayed by it - they are:
Email & IM
Direct Link
HTML code and
IMG code*
It's the "IMG code" you want - copy that link, paste it into your post and it will display the photo automatically, this is how your link should look with the IMG tags:
[img]http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/user_image.jpg[/img]
By using an image hosting service such as Photobucket (or similar) you are protected against data loss if we have a server problem.

Maybe it would be an idea for all of us to have our own accounts in addition to the group account?
Had a quick read through the thread just to remind myself and i'm amazed how far i've come in a couple of years - scared stiff of trying to make an account on photobucket (didn't even know what it was then!) and now i don't even think twice and tell others that it's dead easy!
