NEC International Classic Motorshow '12 - We've got a stand!

Excuse the double post.

I have now formally applied for a stand at the show. It's now in the lap of the Gods as to whether or not we get in. Here's hoping!

I've asked for a stand for 4/5 cars. It's irrelevant what you ask usually as they allocate the stand space according to how the show works out. I've put down the fact that the Mk2 celebrates its 21st anniversary this year as something of note...

Let's see what happens...

Great idea. If you hop on over to Metro Owners Club to speak to the owner (Jack Thornton), im sure he will give you any details you need as they regularly attend and show their Metro's.

Thanks Daniel. I've organised stands at the NEC before, so know the ins and outs of what is involved thankfully!

You may recall a few years ago the Princess & Ambassador OC was there (BL 'Wedge' cars), which was my work...

No problem. Didnt realise that you had setup there before otherwise wouldnt have mentioned it lol. I am yet to attend one so unfortunately have not seen any of your setups but i imagine that one day i will.

That's great news! Any inkling on costings etc or are they going to provide you with details later?

The stand costs nothing whatsoever. The costs will lie in things like public liability insurance (we need it, but it's not usually that dear), any 'decorating' of the stand itself (but those are usually one-off costs and can be re-used for future shows) and the charge to hire power.

Once I've got more information as to how much hire of power/PLI costs I'll report back.

I see this as a really big step for both this site and the 800 as a whole - getting into the NEC is a real, REAL boost for the marque! From the time the Princess club started displaying there the overall interest and enthusiasm for those cars really stepped up a gear; I can see this as a direct parallel.

Once I know the space we have been allocated (and how many cars we can get on it) I'll start another thread asking for those who are interested in showing their cars to get in touch. In the meantime, I've got some paperwork to do for this...

That's not a bad idea. Although hoping to make a start soon now that I have finished replacing the brakes on the ZS and it has a fresh MOT. Just have to Paint the house and garden fence and the wife will be happy so I can spend more time on the coupe. lol

To be honest, i read it wrong at first and got the wrong meaning - if you look at where i've quoted you, i've altered it ever so slightly to show how i read it.
