Sun shining, lad in school, missus in work, and me with no work at the mo, so, after tea & toast this morning, tools went in the boot of the trusty old 200 diesel and I took a pootle around local scrappies...... and came back £50 lighter but with (all for an 800 of course) a nearly new battery, a full set of solid wheel nuts, 4 good bumper brackets (inc front 2 for a coupe), a set of squeal shims for brake calipers (don't askwhere mine are), handful of door card clips, and a decent (surface rust only) fuel filler pipe! ...... and yep, all the other cars I saw had rotten filler pipes, and had been stripped of ABS sensors, windscreen scuttle panels (apart from a Mk1 in Winwick), window switch packs, ..... you get the picture - the 800 vultures had already been there
Just got back with about an hour to spare (cuppa methinks) before missus & lad return, both none the wiser that I have had a brilliant day doing what only us car nuts can appreciate
