Aston Cygnet

One of these used can be picked up for as little as £18000. I got quoted £993 for comprehensive cover. Unbelievably good value - I'm tempted! :D

Well..yes there is that, but out of a similarly priced new MINI, BMW 1 series and this, I know which I’d rather be driving.

Eh? I don't often agree with Deanosaur but theres always a first time. The "Aston" Cygnet is nowt more than Toyota iQ/Aygo or whatever they're calling today with an Aston grille nailed on the front.

There are much better cars/things to spend 18k on.

I know - just messing! There are nicer looking cars. But if it were 9k cheaper I'd actually consider it. How many boring MINI's do you see every day compared with these rebadged Jap boxes?

Wow, you'd actually yog 9k on that? I don't think I could bring myself to drive it if given it for free even. In fact, given the choice between one of those and and a Rover 25, I'd choose the 25 all the time.

Each to thier own and all that krollocks.... :|

I really like the Cygnet. Aston Martin announced last week that after making it for 2 years they are stopping production.

Yes, it's a bit ungainly and yes it's a Toyota IQ underneath BUT it is completely retrimmed, repainted to Aston standards and is a truly luxury car. There is one in Toyota Bromsgrove at the moment. If I was looking at a Mini or similar, I'd have one of these instead and be a bit different from everyone else as well. And 100% reliable, too, no doubt.

Bang on Brad - this is my thinking too. Your driving something very exclusive. Though I'm sure Aston Martin would charge a fair few arms/legs for parts and service which the average geezer would find prohibitive.

It was basically todays answer to an VP 1500/1750 a polished turd.

It was also a cynical way for Aston Martin to reduce their median CO2 figures.
