Disabled Parking

Post by scoobyh123 » Thu Oct 17, 2013 10:04 pm

Saw that yesterday when i went to my local Sainsburys. Apparently it had happened at about 830 in the morning and the driver hit 2 other cars before mounting the Disabled Parking sign in the middle of all the Disabled bays!

I did wonder if he was trying to get his car to emulate the angle of the Leaper on the bonnet :

Couple more pics :

As you can see in the last pic, he did in fact get the front wheels off the ground! When the recovery firm turned up to retrieve it, it actually started 3rd turn of the key so he was able to reverse it up to the recovery truck.
Cheers,
Dave

Certainly is! Of all the bollards he could have hit, he managed to hit the one with the Disabled sign on it!

That's atrocious parking, 3 bays, no respect for the scheme .

I'm just wondering if this was driven by a disabled person who has somehow lost control, maybe hit the gas pedal or pull lever accidently? I'm not so sure. :? Anyway that poor Jag is a true right -off

The guy that turned up with the key in a taxi to meet the recovery people was late 60's and seemed very sprightly. His general demeanour suggested he was the owner. I did wonder when i saw him if he had maybe had a slightly larger night-cap "for medicinal purposes of course" than he should have and maybe was under the affluence of incahol when it happened.

It could of course have been that he was merely acting as chauffeur to a nagging wife and she nagged a bit too much so to try and shut her up he wellied it. On a wet car-park with rear wheel drive it's possible he lost it and fish-tailed it in there.
Cheers,
Dave

Had to be done Steve! Good idea about sending it to the local rag, might just do that! That said they probably already have loads, it happened at about 830 and i wasn't there until 230 so a good 6 hours for the local rag to wander up, take their own pics and get all the details.
Then again knowing what the local rag is like they probably didn't!
Cheers,
Dave

Reminds me of the line in the Victoria Wood show 'Dinnerladies'

Stan: 'Bren is your mother disabled?'
SOUND OF CAR HITTING SOMETHING
Bren: 'her parking's disabled'
