A Soggy Suffolk Saturday Afternoon...........

Post by scoobyh123 » Sat Sep 10, 2016 9:25 pm

..............led to this collection of Rovers in a car park somewhere in Suffolk.

Image

A total of six 800s in various guises and engines including three 2.7 V6s, a 2.0 n/asp and a 2.0 turbo and errr............ one without an engine but it started life as a KV6 825 - it's lurking (or should that be lurching?) in the background at a precarious angle of dangle on some old wheels!
Also present an MG ZT-180 auto and a Rover 75 2.0 V6 and hiding away out of sight, an 820Si saloon. Here's some more pics - enjoy!

This is what gave us the idea :

Then we just added a few more into the pics. Also got some of those "Marc high shots" as well :

Hopefully the taker of those high shots will add the pics to the mix and we can see those as well! :D
Cheers,
Dave

 Curses and naughty words! I was thinking of his other one on LPG! Oops!

Correction to the above - it should have been two 2.0 turbo Vitesses!

I remember the days when my drive looked like that, and worse! Well aside 75/ZT's anyway.

Useful space to have straight outside your yard, only trouble is that having space means you fill it with things. :D

The owner of the gold 827 SLi saloon is the one who actually lives there and at one point he had 73 800s all on the road plus a couple of others (Passat, Punto and similar) and his own 800 and a V8 SD1 in his garage that he sold a year or two back on fleabay. You can imagine what it looked like with that number of 800s sitting there lol! He had ideas about updating the 800s to 75s/ZTs but then his business died, almost overnight due to another similar business with a similar name and much more prominent premises moved in to the village.
Cheers,
Dave

Maybe that was why it started raining when we got the Sterling round to hide the dirt on that?

It was a very impromptu thing Mark and dare i say it, all the better for being "off the cuff" as it were. Quote of the day had to be when i asked Steve (the owner of the SLi) for a step-ladder for Dusan - "Isn't he tall enough already?"
At 6'4" and still growing (i'm sure he's still growing - maybe i'm shrinking! :? ) Steve couldn't believe he needed extra height!

Dave

He carries a step ladder that size in the car? That's what I call being prepared!
