Too new for me i'm afraid Chris, not that i've got the room or spare funds for it at the moment anyway!

You could try putting a For Sale post on : http://www.birtydastards.com/frm/

Good luck with the sale anyway. :D
Too new? Firmly set in the past then?

I like older stuff but also like new tech. Though it does come at a price.

Not ideal for you Rich. :D

I am tempted to park it up as a museum piece but not sure it'll be worth it the way the world is going.

Had someone offer £1300 for it earlier. Webuyanycar are offering £1250 so it must be worth considerably more than that?

Time will tell, I've tried my luck at £3250. I can always come down if need be.

I know what you mean but I prefer those to rust. :)

I would like larger engines too but that's not the modern way.

New stuff is far more refined for day to day though not cheap. A lot more than £3250. :D

Good point but i'm fairly lucky with both my beasts in that respect. While there is a cat on the Sterling, it won't be there too much longer as it will be coming off when i (eventually) get the LPG conversion done.

Neither have IEDs (airbags) thankfully so no worries there.

In the great scheme of things, i'd rather deal with some rust once in a while than risk an explosive device deploying in my face on a daily basis. :D

Dave

I don't do rust. :D

I've scrapped many cars in the past for it.

I've no idea how many airbags are in the Astra. Lots I would think. The Mondeo was the same.

Aside the absolute oldest cars I've owned probably everything I've had has had at least one in them.

I've never known anyone personally have a problem with one going off unexpectedly.

Guess I must be living on the edge? :D

I think i've only owned about 3 cars with airbags, Daewoo Leganza about 20 years ago, Honda Accord Coupe about 15 years ago and my 827 Coupe which didn't have airbags for very long!

Other than that, i've avoided them like the plague because i've seen the results of their deployment at low speeds when there was no need for them - they actually did more harm than they prevented!
They may have a purpose in life if you hit something above 10-15mph but below that, they do more harm IMHO than good.

By the way, i wasn't suggesting the deploy for no reason at all, just the risk of an accident is present every time you drive and with it, the risk of the airbag deploying.
Cheers,
Dave

Fair enough.

I'll be fine then as I speed everywhere. :D
