Have to agree, in the main, with Lord S. It seems to all be about control. Control over what, or indeed, if we drive. The Government certainly controls us, but big business controls the Government. A friend of mine is looking to update her car. She has a 12 year old Rover 214Si which she has owned from new. Dealers are saying they don't want it or will send it straight to scrap. It's a perfectly good little car, quite capable of going on for years, but even in the present financial situation, dealers are reluctant to do a deal on new cars or low mileage 2nd hand ones. Perhaps some of them should go to the wall. I'm self employed and know full well that if I do not aim my prices sensibley, then I don't work or pay the rent.
