New tyres = transformed ride.

I have just returned from Blackburn. 32 miles of motorway driving.
Its a trip I make once a week to go to ice hockey training. The last two weeks trips were nice but not perfect. I had two old mis-matched tyres on the front that vibrated at 65mph and pulled to the left at all speeds.

I had to crawl up there at 55-60mph. Plus they were the first long journeys the car had been on since coming out of storage so I wanted to take it easy.

Anyway, this Monday I bought two new tyres, Avon ZV5's for the two fronts. Wow:shock: what a transformation!! The car runs as straight as an arrow and is sure footed. The steering is a little heavier but in a good way. There is more grip at the front around town and more feeling through the steering wheel.

I threw on a little Dire Straits on the cd changer and just 'floated' home.

The best £106 I have spent on the car yet!

Anyway my point is, if I think enjoyed this ride and think its refined and silky smooth I can only imagine the experience of cruising a few motorway miles in a big jag or merc.

I think it was probably that your old tyres had gone out of balance, perhaps you lost some wheel weights on the way.

Try it on boost :twisted:

My dad is still casually looking for one. In an ideal world I guess he will find one and run it for a couple of years. Then I can take it off him when I can afford the insurance.
