It's generally accepted that even a healthy system will lose up to 10% of its gas per year. It might be less of course, but more than 10% is generally regarded as too much (and therefore indicates a fault).

Well going by that logic Rich it should take three years or so from 650 down to 470g, so it has done well! Of course I exercise the system whenever I use the car (cold wx or not) to give regular relief from constant px on the HP side. Maybe this is what makes it so long between regasses? On this occasion the car was stood for two months so maybe the straw that broke the camel's back at this juncture...

It is important to use the aircon regularly. Some people don't use it at all during the winter (not realising that the warm, dry air it produces will clear the front screen really quickly) - but failing to use it allows seals to dry out and then lose gas more quickly.

Very nice Mark - do my eyes deceive me or is that a set of Mk1 16" Prestige alloys you have on it?
