Cut out the original middle box, a couple of inches or so off the front end of the pipe that goes from the box to the side and fit the tractor box in place of it.

Or add one of the tracor boxes or Poly-Zhaust boxes between the right angle bend and the side of the car - you'll have to get a bend or two to do it, maybe a 15 degree and a 90 degree bend. Put the 90 deg on the front-back pipe from the middle box with the end pointing downwards slightly then fit the 15 degree on this then the silencer on that.

From the outside, it would go in level through the silencer, up a 15 deg bend into a 90 deg bend that goes on the end of the pipe from the middle box.

The tractor silencers are about 4" diameter and the Poly-Zhaust boxes 130mm deep so a smidge over 5" so i'm sure you could sort something out with them and make it quiet enough. :D
Cheers,
Dave

I do have an old cat off an Astra that is short and not wide, i could buy a 50mm flexi clamp on joint and that should fit..

Would the cat reduce exhaust noise?

Very doubtful, might even make it worse! Also you need to be careful you don't set a precedent of having a cat on the car, even if its function is that of a silencer. If it's fitted on the IVA i suspect they'll insist on a fully functional cat for subsequent MoTs.

Dave

Cheers guys, it's not finished yet, the road legal side is.

I want to wire in the rear door locking and windows, maybe add a high level brake light, extend the exhaust pipe, fit boot light and 12v auxiliary plug, carpet the boot and centre section and a few other bits :)

Not fussed on colour really, i have some grey that was covering the tank when it was in the centre, but i doubt it's enough to do the boot as well.

I'd sort of imagined two front ends so you'd need two carpets that would fit the front end and meet in the middle.
The boot carpet is going to be tricky as you have an engine bay shaped boot. If it's any help i've got a grey carpet in the garage and will shortly have a Stone Beige carpet available as well, they'd fit in the "rear" front footwell area. :D
Cheers,
Dave

I have carpet in the foot well on both ends, it's just missing carpet over the centre part and boot.

Today in the cold.. I've wired up the rear "front" doors, so that you can now operate the windows from the proper drivers seats and the central locking works on the rear doors as well, the only thing you can't do is wind down/up the rear passengers window from the rear "drivers" seat, but as a passenger you wouldn't be able to anyway :P

Didnt know you've moved the petrol tank.
Would also like to see the engine bay set out as a boot. Would love to have welded all that up!!

I couldn't leave the tank in the middle due to fitting the suicide locking door mechnanism's and mainly because the IVA manual states that the fuel tank can't be installed in the passenger compartment.

I didn't weld the boot up but installed 18mm OSB, strong enough, durable when panted correctly and can be worked with easily enough and replaced if i need to change something. :)

The photos below are before i connected the brake pipes, but gives you an idea of what it looks like :D
