Come 2022 our 23 year old plus cars will be flying past all the new ones with speed limiting technology.
That so-called improvement of the speed limiting technology will cause even more breakdowns on the new stuff - i already fly past many allegedly "reliable because they're new" cars simply because they've broken down, whether in my 25 year old Sterling or 31 year old Volvo - and just for fun, they're both 90 degree V6 engines which would confuse the bejesus out of most "roadside breakdown technicians" especially if they tried plugging in an OBD-II reader!
Cheers,
Dave

Speak to Simon, not sure if he has any left from the last batch but think he is taking orders for the next.

Just to let everyone know I have reserved the last pair of sills to a forum member and I will not be ordering anymore.

The outlay it costs me upfront, the time it takes to sell a batch (nearly 2 years for 5 pairs), that they cannot be sent due to courier limitations have contributed to this decision.

Apologies for any inconvenience, particularly to Robert.

That's sad but fully understandable. Is it the sort of thing the new club could take over? At least if the details were past on of the supplier and then some sort of 'register of interest' with a mini crowd funding excercise with the club as fund organiser.
Also, whilst we know that the coupe and the saloon/fastback sills differ but in what way? Is it possible to adapt or part use the sills I have even as a starting point?

Depending how your sills are made Mark, it might be possible to use them completely with a bit extra added in where the B post is on the saloon as the top lip is only about an inch or so wide on the Coupe. With the plastic cladding panels removed on the Coupe, the sill can be fitted almost in one go but i believe there are differences further down. If Simon could let you have the drawing or at least the name of his supplier you might be able to carry this on.
Cheers,
Dave

The intention is that the new club will take this on at some point.

Yes the new 800 Club will continue with the Coupe sills in the near future and hopefully wheelarch repair panels for MK1, MK2 and Coupe derivatives. However this does largely depend on membership take up for one and finding the time to get to the fabricators for two.
If you are interested in joining the Club visit www.rover800.club.

When I was going round various sheet metal workers in Surrey Area, one gave me quotes for vaious quantities, and turnaround times. I endup up with some of Simon's sills in the end.
I still have their details if you would like me to pass them on.

P.S. Sorry for absence. Life is kinda mad busy, emotional, and shit at the moment. Wife is still good though, so it's not a divorce. In fact, I souldn't cope it it wasn't for her.
