Until I get pics:

Nice to find receipts for £1200 worth of work in Dec 18! New clutch and clutch hydraulics. Still feels if it needs bled, so that's the first job. Then to see how much to wrap it BRG!

I remembered that trick i mentioned last night about bleeding the clutch successfully Scott. Temporarily remove the slave cylinder from the bellhousing (two bolts i think) and use a G-clamp to prevent the piston popping out. Hold it so the bleed nipple is uppermost, slacken it 1/4 turn and bleed with a one-way valve.

When the slave is fitted to the car, if memory serves the bleed nipple is at the bottom - air bubbles rise to the top so it's nearly impossible to get all the air out without removing the slave cylinder.

Similar applies to the front brakes - the bleed nipple faces forwards in the calipers fitted position, remove the bottom caliper bolt and raise it so the bleed nipple is uppermost. It's also made worse by the design of the caliper allowing for an air pocket to exist around the bleed nipple in the normal position.
Cheers,
Dave

Update:
Put the mudflaps on TB2. Oh and I have bought a Vitesse Coupe.
Harry and I traveled down to Slough in TGM, bought the Coupe and we drove in convoy to Daves and picked up some Coupe spares before returning to base. Harry got 380 miles on a tank of lpg and I have filled the Coupe.
Pics to follow..Just got back from a 10am start. 480 miles and 10 hours.
And you didn't swing by mine so I could see my old girl all done up!

So, what is this, the same car just being passed around?
This is the Vitesse that was on eBay several times recently and never reached the reserve? Which is a bit strange as there is an older Gold Coupe on eBay now for 2.5K.

Had the Coupe on the ramp this morning. Glad to say it's solid underneath and must have been garaged most of its life. Indeed the slave cylinder is new and I'll try the upside down trick and a pressure bleeder, or pushing fluid back up from the slave and cracking a fitting on the master. Not the best of designs...

The coupe handles very well with no knocks, clunks or bangs. Awaiting a quote for a green wrap.

Clutch bled on Coupe - Pushing piston on slave manually while bleeding helped. Seems better so will road test Saturday. Seat doesn't go as far forward as I'd like. Maybe lubrication needed. Wrapping quote not possible due to the colour (Code HNA - BRG Metallic).

Renewal of the slave and Clutch bleeding on the T16 must be the most common service detail! I think I’m into my third slave in 12 years. I never had a problem bleeding but it takes a good assistant.

Pressure bleeders make all the difference! May as well renew the brake fluid while you're at it too.................. :D

Bleeder arrived so I went up to the car to sort it. You know the Sealey pressure bleeder that fits MOST European cars...
But not Rovers...
Universal adapter ordered...

Once it arrives, Can’t you please take some snaps while doing this and share with us? Could be a great writeup for the future.

The Universal Adaptor doesn't fit either. I have a Gunsons one similar, one of the supplied caps fits my Volvo master cylinder reervoir perfectly, changed the fluid completely in about 20minutes (excluding the time to jack it up and remove the wheels) with no problems at all, despite the ABS which is the same system as the Mk1 800 uses.

I have plans to make an adaptor that will fit the Rover m/cyl on the lathe as soon as i finish the current project on there.
Cheers,
Dave

Ha! Funnily the brake bleeder cap fits perfectly - on the coolant reservoir!
If the Sealey multi adapter fits, I'll certainly do a write up. Hope to do it over the weekend.
