Useful bit of kit Andy! Just need to build some shelter around it for those not so sunny summer days!

Did you check your new ball joints for grease? I've heard of a lot coming through with little or no grease in so i check any i fit now (although it's a few years since i did one) and found there was hardly any grease in the last one i did.
Cheers,
Dave

I didn't Dave, but they felt "tight".

I've weatherproofed the lift, sprayed copious amounts of copper ease, grease etc onto the chain and other moving bits, given the arms a lick of paint also, replaced the start capacitor and bypassed the centrfugal switch as it was rusted. Lovley bit of kit. :D

The shelter was more to keep you and the car warm and dry on less favourable days Andy! :P

I take it from your comments above, it was a bargain needing a bit of TLC then? Got to be done!

Have to confess to a little bit of jealousy  , the space you've got and also the lift but that's tempered by a nasty experience i had with a 2-post lift. Heavy end on the short arms, light end on the long ones, the heavy end still wanted to stay on the ground and made its bid for freedom of choice once it was a couple of feet in the air. Luckily i spotted it happening and managed to reverse the lift so it was coming down and on the ground before any damage could happen but i was lucky! :D
Cheers,
Dave

it reminds me of the one that I used to have - and miss very much
I remember seeing it at Brads when he had it for sale, wasn't too taken with the blue leather but being a manual Sterling was very appealing :D

It's still going no?
Is it the Atlantic Blue interior? Does it also have the adjustable rear seats? Seem to recall there was a "special" model with those features but think it was slightly older than an "H" so might have been on trade plates as a demonstrator for the first year or so of its life?
Last I heard, it was still going. I sold it to Tracy (forum member Dajazzar) and she and her husband ran it until it needed some bodywork, which they did (quote a lot of it, I believe).

It had all the toys - including adjustable seats - and being a manual non-cat model was every bit as quick as a Vitesse

Ha yeah ☺️

Was registered on August 1st 1990. So 30 years old today.

Drives really nice, will write up a summary of what I've done to it soon.

Going to change the inner tie rod and top ball joint on the Vitesse as they were advisories on the MOT it passed 2 weeks ago. Then I'll offer it for sale as I just don't use it..

Happy birthday indeed, forgot that bit!

Glad you're pleased with how it drives too, shame you're selling the Vitesse - something in the back of my mind says you might regret that!

You and Henrik have unknowingly reminded me i forgot to wish my Volvo a Happy 32nd Birthday yesterday! :P  :D
Cheers,
Dave
